Due to an internal promotion, we have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Livestock Representative to join our successful Mid / South Canterbury Livestock Team, predominately based out of Timaru.

About the role :
This Traineeship is a great foundation to begin your career.
This full-time role will introduce you to all the facets of PGG Wrightson's successful Livestock business.
Under the guidance of our experienced Livestock agents and managers across the country and through a structured programme of modules and assessments that are designed to provide you with a broad 'generalist' understanding and ability; you will be exposed to everything - from sales and technical knowledge, through to client management and systems.
You will learn about :
What makes a successful Livestock Representative or 'Agent'
Qualitative and quantitative technical assessments of livestock
Quoting, contracts, systems, online trading platform (bidr) and processes that support our commercial operations
Other specialist Livestock areas such as Deer / Velvet, Genetics and Standardbred
End to end systems of Livestock supply chain
Compliance and legislation that plays a key role in the industry
We are looking for candidates with :
Enthusiasm and a passion for the NZ Agriculture industry
Confident computer and technical skills
A passion for sales, good stockmanship and a willingness to learn at every opportunity
The ability to grasp new concepts quickly and be physically fit
A basic understanding of the agricultural industry, and current challenges - some practical farming experience would be advantageous, but not essential
Hold a full, current and clean New Zealand driver licence.
