Are you a compassionate and dedicated individual looking to make a lasting impact on the lives of children with additional needs?

GSL Education are looking for a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join schools in Christchurch.

As a Special Educational Needs TA, you will provide one-to-one and small group support to students with a range of additional learning needs, including autism, speech and language difficulties, ADHD, and emotional or behavioural challenges.

You will work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to create a positive and inclusive environment where every child feels valued and supported.

Responsibilities

Provide classroom and individual support to students with special educational needs.

Assist in the implementation of personalised education and behaviour plans.

Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in learning.

Support teachers in planning and delivering inclusive lessons.

Promote a safe, nurturing, and positive learning environment.

Record and report progress to teachers and SENCOs as needed.

Requirements

Previous experience working with children with special educational needs, ideally within a school environment.

Understanding of a range of learning difficulties, including autism and ADHD.

A caring, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting young learners.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance are desirable.

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.

Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
