Truck Driver & Forklift Operator

About the Role :

GKT Randhawa Limited is Looking for two truck drivers & forklift operators. The applicant for the position must hold NZ class 4 Driver License and must be willing to drive trucks and operate forklifts equally.

Pay : $27 to $30 per hour depending on experience

Location : Wellington

Minimum Hours : 30 per week

Key Responsibilities :

• Drive Class 2 / 4 curtain slider trucks and transport goods safely to their destination.
• Operate forklifts to load and unload trucks.
• Sort frieght in the yard for deliveries.
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
• Collect and verify delivery instructions
• To ensure the truck is loaded appropriately and materials recorded correctly
• Report defects, accidents, or violations
• Ensure goods are packed securely and safely for delivery
• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
• Document and log work / rest periods and kilometres spent driving and retain fuel / toll receipts
• Scanning the delivered items for record
• Manoeuvre trucks into loading or unloading positions
• Collect and verify delivery instructions
