We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our Queenstown office, supporting the delivery of a strong pipeline of residential and land development projects across the region.
This is a key senior technical position within a small, close-knit team that forms part of our wider national business.
You'll work closely with our Team Leader, stepping into a 2IC role with the opportunity to grow into future leadership responsibilities.
About the role
As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in leading and delivering geotechnical investigations, design, and reporting for a range of residential and commercial development projects.
You'll provide technical oversight and mentorship within the team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, practical, and cost-effective solutions for our clients.
While our Team Leader focuses on client relationships and business development, your strengths will lie in technical excellence, project delivery, and supporting the development of our engineers.
Key responsibilities include :
Leading geotechnical project delivery from investigation through to completion
Providing technical input and review on a variety of projects
Supporting and mentoring junior engineers within the team
Coordinating effectively with clients, consultants, and contractors
Upholding high standards of technical quality, safety, and delivery

About you
You are a technically strong engineer who takes pride in delivering high-quality outcomes and supporting others to do the same.

BEng Civil or equivalent specialising in Geotechnical
Minimum of 10 years+ experience, with a minimum of 5 years within New Zealand
CPEng preferred
Strong technical and analytical skills, with sound judgement in practical application
Proven experience in shallow and deep foundations, slope stability, retaining structures, and ground improvement
Strong leadership, whilst being a role model for promoting high work standards to deliver client projects on time and within budget
Excellent communication and coordination abilities
Thrive on challenges and motivated to provide innovative solutions for our clients
Enjoy working in a team environment and communicating with a wide range of people
