Solutions Architect

The Electoral Commission is looking for a Solutions Architect to join the Information Technology team. You will be part of a high-performing, supportive and fun team that is dedicated to ensuring the Commission's IT solutions run smoothly and securely so that it can deliver excellent services to the public.

The position will report to the Manager, Applications and will be responsible for providing technical architecture, leadership, options analysis, solutions and direction on the Commission's applications and software landscape. The position will play a key role in the set up and integration of existing and new applications, as well as providing a lens to the future of where we want to be heading.

This is a permanent role with no direct reports. The salary grade for this role is grade 18 starting from 127,160 - $155,420 depending on relevant skills and experience of the candidate.

You have excellent verbal and written communication skills. You love communicating complex technical ideas and options analysis to a broad audience in a way that makes sense to them and allows the best decision to be made. You have broad architecture skills and experience across several domains including application development and integrations. You enjoy working on a variety of tasks in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment. You are great at establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with a diverse range of people across all levels.

• Play a key part in application architecture, development, integration, and options analysis, ensuring IT solutions are delivered according to architectural principles & standards.
• Produce high level technical design and solution architecture documentation.
• Support the strategy for the Commission's application architectural environment into the future.
• Align IT solutions with the Commission's business strategic direction and work programme.
• Support project-related procurement, including the development and evaluation of business cases & market tenders, contributing to negotiations and assessment of service quality.
• Contribute to project-related testing of IT solutions.
• Develop roadmaps for the Commission’s technology products and services, assessing the current state and performance of its assets.
• Design and implementation of information system security controls in conjunction with third party vendors.
