As a Cook, you will be expected to perform a variety of tasks to the highest standards, including but not limited to the following :
- Prepare and cook a wide range of food items.
- Examine food stuffs to ensure freshness and quality standards are maintained.
- Operate and regulate ovens, stoves and other cooking equipment at appropriate temperatures.
- Season food during cooking to achieve authentic taste and flavour.
- Portion dishes and add gravies, sauces and garnishes for presentation.
- Store food safely in temperature-controlled facilities.
- Prepare meals to meet specific dietary requirements when necessary.
- Maintain appropriate stock levels to ensure continuous kitchen operations.
- May plan menu and estimate food requirements to enhance menu requirements.
- May train and supervise kitchen staff ensuring efficient workflow and teamwork.
- Adhere to hygiene and safety regulations in line with New Zealand health and safety guidelines.
- Undertake additional tasks as reasonably requested by the Manager to support the efficient operation of the kitchen.
Qualification, Experience, and Attributes Required :
At least 4 years relevant work experience as Cook or Chef.Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and public holidays as required.Availability to work late nights.Ability to multitask and strong team player.Pay and Benefit
