We are looking for an exceptional individual to lead our Data, Information Management & Enterprise reporting team at New Zealand Customs.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and drive the product roadmap for data and information services.Lead and inspire a team to deliver high-quality outcomes.Engage with stakeholders to understand needs and translate organisational priorities into actionable plans.Oversee the full product lifecycle, from planning to delivery.Champion best practices in Data, information management and business intelligence.This role is part of a rotational on-call roster, typically one week in eight.What You'll Work OnData : Deliver a new Microsoft Fabric Data platform to replace legacy platforms and services, modernising data capability to meet current and future regulatory reporting needs.Business Intelligence : Replace legacy reporting with modern, cloud-based solutions using Microsoft Fabric and Power BI; work in agile sprints with Azure DevOps and a requirements-led approach.Information Management : Lead information management practice, driving policy, process, governance and assurance.Qualifications & ExperienceSignificant experience (at least 5 years) in Data Product management in a complex enterprise environment, with leadership experience.Significant experience leading an Information Management team / function / service.Proven ability to achieve results through people and teams.Experience translating organisational priorities into strategies and plans.Strong people leadership, including direct management and leading change.Experience leading operational teams and services; project delivery experience.Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with focus on innovation and risk management.Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, including stakeholder engagement.Financial literacy and commercial acumen.Experience building relationships across government and industry.Why Join UsFlexible working arrangements and three extra service leave days.On-the-job training, formal courses, and leadership programmes.Opportunities to move across diverse roles.Inclusive, supportive team environment with vibrant social and cultural groups.Discounted health insurance, on-site gyms (in some locations), and generous leave entitlements.How To ApplyTo join Customs, you must be a New Zealand Citizen or New Zealand Permanent Resident and able to obtain and maintain a Secret-level security clearance.
