About the role :

An Assistant Design Manager typically has several years of experience and is working towards professional accreditation such as CPEng or registration as an Architect.

They support senior Design Managers on larger or complex projects and may lead design processes on smaller projects.

Developing a comprehensive understanding of the design process across disciplines is key to managing interfaces and sequencing activities effectively.

The team at Preformance comprises professionals from diverse technical backgrounds.

The Assistant Design Manager will develop expertise in a technical discipline, leading technical reviews of consultant documents and resolving technical issues.

As a vital member of the Pre-Construction team, the Assistant Design Manager should lead by example, contribute positively to the team, and champion the company's 'Inside the Box' culture.

They will oversee project delivery in line with the Preformance Management Process, contributing to successful project outcomes both technically and financially.

The role also involves supporting Preformance's sustainability initiatives.

The Assistant Design Manager will work towards achieving Homestar & Greenstar accreditations and may lead sustainability efforts, including preparing submissions for projects.

You will have :

3-4 years of experience in commercial or residential construction within a main contractor or architectural firm

A degree in Architecture

Competence in reviewing electrical designs from sub-consultants

Desirable : Working towards professional registration (Architectural Registration)

Proficiency in Revit for BIM

Understanding of project management principles including budget, scope, schedule, and stakeholder management

Experience with ISO9001 QA processes

Ability to manage competing priorities effectively

Enthusiasm to contribute to a high-performing team
