Principal Software Engineer – Transpower New Zealand

About The Opportunity

As a key member of the Application Services Development team, you will play an active role in designing, developing and operating mission‑critical IT systems that power the New Zealand electricity grid and market in real time.

• Develop, enhance and support critical systems used by the grid operators.
• Contribute to the upcoming pipeline of market‑system projects and integration of SaaS / commercial software.
• Deliver new software, perform major / minor enhancements, life‑cycle upgrades of technology stacks and ensure continuous integration and deployment.
• Engage with cross‑functional teams to adopt modern web / mobile, AI / ML, DevOps and open‑source practices.

About You

You are a highly experienced Software Engineer who is passionate about quality delivery and eager to share knowledge. You bring a strategic view to your work, understanding how it impacts the broader systems at Transpower.
