About the role

We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic, and skilled Paediatric Radiologist to join our dynamic Radiology team at Dunedin Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity for a specialist with a passion for paediatric imaging to work in a collaborative environment with other healthcare professionals in a well-established, fully integrated team.

As a Paediatric Radiologist, you will :

• provide expert paediatric radiology services across a wide range of imaging modalities, including X-ray, ultrasound, CT, MRI, and nuclear medicine
• interpret imaging studies for paediatric patients, from neonates to adolescents
• work closely with Paediatricians, Neonatologists, Surgeons, and other medical professionals to provide comprehensive, family-centred care
• contribute to the training and mentoring of junior medical staff and Registrars
• participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and radiology reviews
• ensure high standards of care, quality control, and safety in imaging procedures for children
• participate in the 1 : 6 on-call roster to cover acute general paediatrics, and a range of out-patient services covering all modalities across the department.

About you

To be considered for this role, you will need to meet the following criteria :

• Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR) or equivalent
• Significant experience and expertise in paediatric radiology
• A strong commitment to high-quality patient care and a compassionate approach to paediatric patients
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• An interest in teaching and mentoring Radiology Registrars
• A positive, proactive approach to clinical challenges and continuous professional development

Salary range

This role belongs to the ASMS Collective Agreement and falls between Step 1 ($185,380) and Step 15 ($267,980 per annum pro-rata).
