About this role
An opportunity exists for a permanent full-time superstar administrator to join our Business Support team based in New Plymouth.
You will bring your exceptional customer service, organisation, and planning skills to the role as a Senior Support Officer.
Reporting to the Business Support Manager you will be responsible for a wide range of administrative support activities and deliver these to exceptional high standards with attention to detail.
As the face of the Ministry in New Plymouth, this is an office-based role that requires ownership and initiative to ensure smooth operations for colleagues and visitors across the region.
Responsibilities
Provide exceptional customer service and efficient administrative support to managers and staff.
Organise and plan office activities, ensuring the office runs efficiently and seamlessly.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers and colleagues across the Ministry.
Support management and teams in resolving issues proactively and professionally.
Handle administrative tasks with accuracy, prioritisation and meet timelines.
Adapt to varying conditions and work well within virtual cross-functional teams.
Maintain a professional, calm demeanor even during busy periods.
Qualifications
Professional appearance and presentation.
Passion for learning and openness to new skills in a varied environment.
Strong Microsoft Suite proficiency.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to prioritise work and manage time effectively.
Working knowledge of the Treaty of Waitangi and ability to apply it to their work.
Full, clean driver's licence.
Comfortable working in a tikanga / kaupapa Maori environment.
Adherence to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.

Te Mahau | Te Tai Whenua is a frontline group providing leadership and integrated services to the sector, including learning support and education advice and regulation for schools and early learning services.
Our Business Support team supports the Education and Learning Support teams in New Plymouth, Whanganui and Manawatu regions, working closely with families, schools, and early childhood centres.
