Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity in our - Community Rehabilitation (CoRE) team, a specialist, multidisciplinary service for assessment and rehabilitation for adults within Te Toka Tumai’s Community and Long-Term Conditions Directorate We are a team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists and psychologists, who provide intensive, evidence-based and individualised rehabilitation, primarily for people discharging from hospital following a recent medical event and significant change in level of function. This can include stroke and other neurological conditions, amputations, orthopaedic conditions etc.

This is a fixed term Parental Leave role 0.6FTE position. In this role you will be responsible for :

Supporting the adjustment and rehabilitation of people and their whanau following a variety of physical health conditions, including stroke and neurological conditions, amputations, orthopaedic conditions, functional neurological disorders etc.

Comprehensive psychological assessment and outcome focussed innovative care, applying evidence based practice, interventions and education.

Contribute collaboratively to our multidisciplinary team

Managing the scope for individual, multidisciplinary, and group interventions

Deliver cognitive and neuropsychological assessments as appropriate for your skill-set / professional development.

Contributing to quality and service improvements and development of team members and students as well as themselves.

The role is primarily clinical where the majority of time is client related but incorporates clinical education and clinical leadership components relevant to the area of specialty.

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

To be successful, you must have :

New Zealand registration as a Clinical Psychologist and have a current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC)

A post graduate diploma or Doctoral degree in Clinical psychology (or equivalent)

Experience in a physical health, medical or rehabilitation setting

Have a current full driver’s license
