Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity in our - Community Rehabilitation (CoRE) team, a specialist, multidisciplinary service for assessment and rehabilitation for adults within Te Toka Tumai’s Community and Long-Term Conditions Directorate We are a team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists and psychologists, who provide intensive, evidence-based and individualised rehabilitation, primarily for people discharging from hospital following a recent medical event and significant change in level of function. This can include stroke and other neurological conditions, amputations, orthopaedic conditions etc.

This is a fixed term Parental Leave role 0.6FTE position. In this role you will be responsible for :

  • Supporting the adjustment and rehabilitation of people and their whanau following a variety of physical health conditions, including stroke and neurological conditions, amputations, orthopaedic conditions, functional neurological disorders etc.
  • Comprehensive psychological assessment and outcome focussed innovative care, applying evidence based practice, interventions and education.
  • Contribute collaboratively to our multidisciplinary team
  • Managing the scope for individual, multidisciplinary, and group interventions
  • Deliver cognitive and neuropsychological assessments as appropriate for your skill-set / professional development.
  • Contributing to quality and service improvements and development of team members and students as well as themselves.
  • The role is primarily clinical where the majority of time is client related but incorporates clinical education and clinical leadership components relevant to the area of specialty.

    Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

    To be successful, you must have :

  • New Zealand registration as a Clinical Psychologist and have a current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC)
  • A post graduate diploma or Doctoral degree in Clinical psychology (or equivalent)
  • Experience in a physical health, medical or rehabilitation setting
  • Have a current full driver’s license
