This is a permanent position focused on providing culturally responsive support to our akonga (students), especially our significant Maori and Pasifika cohorts.About the Role : Te TurangaYou will enhance the well-being of emerging adolescents through direct support and collaborative initiatives.You will : Provide individual and group counselling for akonga with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.Collaborate with our multi-disciplinary team, including kaiako (teachers) and external providers.Promote a school-wide culture of well-being, aligning with our core values of Whakaute (respect), Rangatiratanga (responsibility), and Whakaanga (engagement).

Support the Taumata system to enhance social, cultural, and academic excellence in every student.Engage creatively, designing and facilitating targeted group programmes.We need someone with a genuine passion for intermediate-aged students and commitment to our unique, multicultural environment.You must : Demonstrate a strong commitment to Te Ao Maori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi, actualised in your practice and culture of care.Show cultural competence and experience effectively supporting Maori and Pasifika students and whanau.Be skilled in building trusting relationships with akonga, whanau, and staff.Have a strong grasp of restorative practice.Hold a relevant Counselling qualification (e.g., Bachelor of Counselling) and NZAC / NZCCA membership (or eligibility).

NZ Registered Teacher Status is desirable but not essential.Apply now!
