RealNZ is seeking a Senior Heavy Diesel Technician to join our Marine Maintenance team and help us keep our iconic vessels operating at peak performance.As the Senior Heavy Diesel Technician - Marine, you will be the engineering leader responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of RealNZ's marine assets.
Reporting to the Marine Maintenance Manager, you will ensure that our operations run smoothly, safely, and efficiently.Your key responsibilities will include leading maintenance tasks and defect repairs across RealNZ's marine fleet while ensuring all work is completed on time, within budget, and in line with industry standards.
You will conduct independent research, support project-related engineering tasks, and actively contribute to asset management optimisation.
Preparing weekly status reports and supervising external contractors will be essential parts of your role.
Additionally, you will act as an engineering leader, promoting safety and best practices across all operations while managing project-related activities to drive efficiency and reliability.What We're Looking ForRelevant Trade Qualification as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic or in Automotive Engineering.Minimum 5 years' experience working with heavy equipment.Proven experience in maintenance, overhauls, and repairs of engines, transmissions, and auxiliary systems.OEM Experience and / or training with major brands (Caterpillar, Yanmar, Cummins, Scania, MTU, Detroit).

Remuneration for this role will depend on your experience ($40-$50 per hour).
