About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced registered nurse for the role of ACC Clinical Coordinator.
This pivotal position ensures continuity, consistency, and excellence in the delivery of ACC clinical workflows across multiple inpatient areas.
As the ACC Clinical Coordinator, you will act as a key link between the clinical inpatient teams and the ACC team, providing expert guidance and coordination for patients with ACC-related diagnoses or events, including NARP.
You will play a central role in identifying eligible patients, ensuring the accurate completion of documentation, and supporting clinical teams to navigate ACC processes efficiently.
This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
You will be responsible for identifying and addressing knowledge gaps, supporting the development and maintenance of ACC-related protocols, and ensuring compliance with best practice and organisational standards.
With a focus on delivering high-quality, patient-centred care, the ACC Clinical Coordinator will also contribute to optimising revenue opportunities and ensuring eligible patients receive their full entitlements under ACC.

About the Team / Service / Location
The ACC Team provides expert support to all clinical areas across Whanganui Hospital, ensuring all ACC documentation and processes are completed accurately and in line with contractual and regulatory requirements.
With strong knowledge of relevant ACC contracts, the team plays a vital role in ensuring both patients and the hospital receive the correct entitlements.
The Whanganui ACC Team reports to and is supported by the Te Whatu Ora Taranaki ACC and Non-Resident Team.

About you
Preferred candidates will have the following :
A NZ Registered Nurse with a current practising certificate
At least 5 years post graduate experience in an inpatient setting
Experience in leadership and coordination
Coaching and mentoring skills
Leadership and change management skills
Perceived as highly progressive and knowledgeable
Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action
Exceptional clinical knowledge
Minimum 5 years clinical experience as a Registered Health professional
Post graduate qualification or working towards
Previous exposure or experience with ACC
Working at Health New Zealand
