About the role

We are looking for an experienced Health Care Assistant to join our nationally recognised Orthopaedic ward, Ward 11. This is a 29 bedded ward with state of the art facilities and also renowned for managing complex Orthopaedic cases. Ward 11 is based at Middlemore Hospital and is part of the Surgical, Anaesthesia and Perioperative service.

Health Care Assistants are our RNs right hand people. Assisting them with day-to-day tasks of caring for our patients, this is a unique opportunity for you to contribute to our vision of delivering quality patient care.

The successful applicant will get the opportunity to work with different patients and families supporting the nurses. As a Health Care Assistant you will be required to provide clinical care to our patients. Our new team member must also be highly organised, able to prioritise, have excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy building relationships with our patients.

Responsibilities

• Assist registered nurses with day-to-day tasks of caring for patients in the Orthopaedic ward.
• Provide clinical care under the direction of RNs; support patient comfort, safety and well-being.
• Demonstrate organisational skills, prioritise tasks, and build positive relationships with patients and families.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to support patient flow and care delivery.
