The Anaesthesia Service has state of the art equipment and is supported by our well-trained technicians and PACU staff.

This is also an exciting time to join as our service prepares for the new Dunedin Hospital.

As a Specialist Anaesthetist, you'll be expected to provide anaesthesia for a mix of general lists covering a broad range of specialist services.

You will also be expected to provide afterhours cover during the week and will participate on a 1 : 8 weekend call roster.We are a tertiary level hospital with a full range of elective and acute surgical specialities and can offer you a varied and challenging array of anaesthesia work.ResponsibilitiesIdeally, we are looking for someone with the following skills and experience to complement our team : It would be desirable to have a specialist interest in perioperative medicineA team player with exceptional interpersonal skills who builds effective relationships both within and external to their teamIs solution focused and can demonstrate excellent decision making and priority setting in a clinical environmentEnthusiasm for teaching and passing on their knowledge to junior members of staffAppointed specialists will possess FANZCA or an equivalent qualification allowing a vocational registration with the NZ Medical Council.QualificationsAbout working at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora is 'the weaving of wellness'.
