Heavy Diesel Mechanic

We’re looking for a skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join a well-established Hawke’s Bay workshop that services a wide range of trucks, trailers, buses, forklifts, and light vehicles. You’ll be part of a tight-knit team of seven, working alongside experienced tradesmen and apprentices, keeping everything running smoothly across a busy transport fleet.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out servicing, repairs, and maintenance on heavy diesel vehicles, trailers, and buses.
• Diagnosing mechanical issues and completing general repairs (including some transmission work).
• Occasional servicing of light vehicles and forklifts.
• Working collaboratively with a small, down-to‑earth workshop crew.
• Upskilling junior team members.

Hours and Schedule

40–45 Hours per week. Flexible Start Times. Overtime at hourly rate + $10 per hour, on-call allowance. Southern Cross subsidy.

Environment
