Clinical Research Technician — Permanent Full Time
Position Purpose
The purpose of this role is to support nursing staff in conducting clinical procedures and maintaining accurate participant records, ensuring adherence to study protocols and high data quality standards.
Responsibilities
To assist Nursing staff with some clinical procedures i.e. taking and recording of vital signs, ECGs, urinalysis, as mandated by study protocols.
To enter accurate and real time data into participant records and initiate self-checking mechanisms for accuracy and participating in Quality Control activities.
To perform all set tasks in a timely manner and within allowable protocol windows.
To assist in keeping the ward areas clean and tidy.
To be involved in the delivery of standardised meals as required for participants, maintaining protocol mandated dietary restrictions.
To assist with any other tasks as may be required and as directed by Senior Nursing staff.
Follows NZCR Policies and Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures and Working Procedures in their clinical work accurately and at all times.
Quality
Maintain compliance with all New Zealand Clinical Research standards, protocols, and regulatory requirements, adhering to Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
Regularly evaluates, documents, and refines clinical and operational processes to enhance accuracy, consistency, and overall quality.
Assists in training employees in quality standards, policies, and procedures, ensuring all team members understand and implement best practices.
Ensures accuracy, consistency, and currency in all research documentation and reporting, including accurate record-keeping, version control and timely updates.
Workplace Health and Safety

Minimum Position Qualifications
Current CPR Certificate
GCP Training
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Demonstrable training or experience in an allied field.
Must be self-motivated, well organised and have the ability to work unsupervised on occasion.
Able to follow carefully defined processes.
Able to work flexible hours, including evenings, nights, and weekends.
Able to work to tight deadlines.
Able to work under pressure.
Excellent time management skills.
Ability to relate well to members of a multi-disciplinary team and diverse participant population.
Ability to engage with colleagues in a professional and personable manner.
Able to follow directions promptly and accurately.
Participates in performance review activities as required, usually annually.
