We’re seeking an experienced, strategic, and inspiring Head of Marketing to lead our marketing function and drive the growth of our brands, memberships, match attendance, and fan engagement for a 10–12-month maternity cover period.
About the Role :
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will lead the Crusaders & Matatū marketing strategy, overseeing all aspects of brand, campaign, and fan engagement. You’ll develop and execute integrated marketing plans, manage a talented team, and ensure our campaigns are compelling, on-brand, and deliver real results. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external partners to create innovative experiences for our fans and support the club’s commercial objectives.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead the development and execution of the Crusaders & Matatū marketing strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and brand values.
- Oversee the planning, delivery, and evaluation of integrated marketing campaigns across all channels.
- Ensure consistent brand messaging and creative excellence across all platforms.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire the marketing team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Drive fan engagement initiatives across digital, social, in-person events, and community programmes.
- Provide leadership on stadium and fan experience, working closely with the events manager.
- Support the membership programme with strategic marketing to drive engagement and growth.
- Oversee digital, communications, and content teams to ensure engaging, innovative, and fan-focused content.
- Manage the marketing budget, reporting on activity, performance, and ROI.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety systems and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
About you :
To be successful in this role, you will have
At least 5 years’ experience in a sports marketing environment.A tertiary qualification in Commerce, Marketing, or a related field.Proven ability to develop and deliver customer-focused solutions.Strong business acumen and strategic thinking.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Demonstrated leadership and team development experience.Ability to build effective relationships across the business and with key stakeholders.Solid technical skills in Microsoft Office and relevant marketing systems.A proactive, professional approach and a genuine passion for sport and fan engagement.What we offer
