We are seeking a Senior Principal Civil Engineer to join our water team based in one of our nationwide locations.
This role supports projects across New Zealand and Australia, offering exciting projects, a strong culture, career development, and work / life balance.
This role provides opportunities to work on large-scale projects from initial investigation through to design and construction completion, with technical support from our design resources in New Zealand and the wider Asia Pacific region.
Key Responsibilities
Project Technical Lead on a variety of projects to ensure the team delivers on outputs on budget, on time, and to quality standards.
Collaborate with key clients, understand their needs, and influence outcomes for successful project delivery.
Support the technical development of team members and ensure ongoing skill growth.
Maintain ongoing client liaison to meet expectations and address concerns appropriately.
Identify objectives of new and existing clients to undertake effective business development and opportunities for Stantec.
Produce quality project outputs, monitor scope changes, and ensure design work is resourced, reviewed, and programmed.
Prepare cost estimates for project design and construction.
Contribute to proposals and bid development to support business development activities, including preparing proposal material and working with the delivery contractor.
What You Will Bring
Preferred candidates will have proven technical experience in water engineering projects, including water and wastewater projects.
Experience with a range of clients and stakeholders (local authorities, government bodies, and commercial companies) is valued.
Strong self-management skills are essential, with the ability to prioritise workloads while maintaining strong client and colleague relationships across local and broader Stantec teams.
You will be a confident communicator with an engineering tertiary qualification and 20 or more years of experience, capable of developing internal and external client relationships, delivering projects, and overseeing technical delivery, including client and stakeholder consultation when required.
