Locksmith Technician

Overview

We're on the lookout for a motivated individual to retrain as a Locksmith Technician.

This is not an entry-level role — our client is seeking someone with prior hands-on trade or technical skills who is ready to learn locksmithing from the ground up.

You'll start in the Lower Hutt workshop, working alongside senior locksmiths, and progress toward a formal

NZQA Level 4 Locksmith Apprenticeship

Responsibilities

Assisting senior locksmiths in the workshop

Working with traditional mechanical locks

Learning access control systems and electronic security

Using hand and power tools on a daily basis

Supporting with key programming and other locksmithing tasks

What you'll need

Previous hands-on trade experience or demonstrable technical skills

Strong mechanical or electrical aptitude with problem-solving ability

Confidence using hand and power tools

Willingness to learn locksmithing from the ground up
