Veterinarian – Fixed Term Contract

Opportunity for an Experienced Small Animal Vet to join our team at Hornby Veterinary Centre – Christchurch on a fixed-term parental leave contract from September 2025 until May 2026.

A bit about us :

We are a large multi-vet clinic with an experienced team, each with complementary areas of interest, supported by skilled nurses.

Our purpose-built clinic contains up-to-date equipment including the IDEXX in-house laboratory suite & SediVue, iM3 dentistry with radiography & Vet-tome, orthopaedic kits (AO and ESF systems), ultrasound, digital radiography, endoscopes, ECG, fluid pumps and warmers, syringe pumps, and Smartflow patient management.

We promote a genuine work-life balance with limited after-hours backup, as we are part of the Christchurch After-hours Clinic.

Weekend work is shared, with Saturday only.

We encourage professional development, both in-house and externally.

About you :

We seek an experienced Small Animal Vet with at least 5 years of clinical experience, BVSc qualification, and NZ Vet Council Registration.

The ideal candidate is a dedicated team player, proficient in general surgery, confident in consultations, and committed to providing and receiving support from colleagues to ensure exceptional patient care.
