Aboutthe RoleAn opportunity now exists for Occupational Therapistto work within the Outpatient services at Burwood Hospital.In this role, you will work with referred patients who have adiagnosis of low vision, to enableoptimum safety and function in the community.You - ll work with clients from diverse social andcultural backgrounds and need to bring your holistic skills, enthusiasm andpassion to achieve the best outcome for your patients.Positioned in ouroutpatient service at Burwood Hospital ,this role engages with patients to assess and optimise their function in thecommunity who have Low vision .
This role within the Low Vision clinic involves assessment in the clinic setting ,prescribing technology and strategies for maintaining independence.
This roleinvolves assessing the clients in their own home.
You will be responsible for :Undertaking Occupational Therapy assessments and developing and implementing treatment plans, considered within a holistic approachProviding education and resource, where appropriate, to the client and their family / whanau, as well as the wider teamEngaging in service delivery reviews and associated quality improvement initiativesBurwood Hospital offers the opportunity to be part of both the Low Vision team and the wider Occupational Therapy Department and take the opportunities to access professional development through, in-service training and clinical supervision.About YouWe are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist who will be able to demonstrate your excellent communication skills and build rapport with patients and their whanau.To be successful in this role you will demonstrate the following :
