Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
Based in Johnsonville, this permanent role supports the New Zealand transport network and keeps people safe on the roads.
You will act as a Transport Operations Centre Operator, managing the transport system across urban and rural areas, responding to events reported by emergency services, and delivering timely traveller information.
You will receive classroom and practical training and work with a buddy in the first few months.
Shifts : rotating schedule on a 24 / 7 roster.
Start date : mid-January
Responsibilities
Manage New Zealand's transport network and respond to events that affect route reliability and safety.
Monitor and respond to planned and unplanned events across the transport network.
Provide accurate, relevant and timely traveller information to road users.
Support the management of the transport system across urban and rural New Zealand.
Qualifications and Experience
Solid customer service experience; call centre, incident, and / or traffic management background preferred.
Ability to multi-task and prioritise workload.
Resilience and ability to work well under pressure, staying calm with high-priority matters.
Flexibility to adapt quickly to changing circumstances.
High levels of communication and relationship-management skills.
Confidence and competence with technology and multiple systems.
Knowledge of New Zealand geography desired.
Willingness to work full shift rotation on a rolling 24 / 7 roster.
Must obtain and maintain a Police security clearance.
Compensation
Salary between NZ$68,241 and NZ$75,823, commensurate with skill and experience, plus a shift allowance of NZ$3,300 per annum.
