Quality Control Officer

Southern Wild Game Co. LP is an exciting new start-up backed by some of the pioneers of the New Zealand wild caught deer industry.

Our mission is to become New Zealand’s pre-eminent wild caught deer processor through consistency of product and service.

Southern Wild Game Co is due to commence Deer processing in Kaikorai Valley Road, Dunedin in late October and is looking for an experienced Quality Control Officer.

This role will report to the General Manager and will form a small team of 14 who will process Wild Caught Venison for the European and American markets where our quality and attention to detail will set us apart from others.

Work will be Monday to Friday, dayshift, with some overtime required during peak production periods.

We welcome applications from enthusiastic people with the following experience :

• Meat Processing Quality control systems including Pre Operative hygiene, Operator Hygiene monitoring, Pre Trim and CUSUM / Lot Inspection.
• Product Specification and Label checks
• NMD Microbiological sampling
• Refrigeration and temperature monitoring
• Scale Tare weight and equipment verification
• E Cert processing
