Community Services Coordinator - Auckland
WhanauAwhinaPlunket is the largest service in Aotearoa supporting tamariki under five and their whanau.
As well as clinical support, we're also here to connect caregivers with services that support holistic health and wellbeing and access to helpful services to form meaningful connections.

South Auckland and East Auckland communities
, this a hybrid
34 hour a week role
which will involve some in person work, but allows for at-home focus time as well.
Te Whiwhingamahi | The opportunity
Community Service Coordinators are at the helm of understanding what our whanau are seeking and what services are available in your community.
This involves :
Gathering insights internally and externally about existing services and identifying opportunities for collaboration in your community.
Establishing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholder partners.
Recruiting, onboarding and communicating with our volunteers who run groups, fundraise, provide in-home support and other important initiatives.
We are committed to upholding our obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi and ensuring better access to our services for Maori, Pacific Peoples, young parents, children in state care, Rainbow whanau and those living rurally.
In conjunction with your Community Services Manager, you'll work together to ensure we are where we are needed most.
Working with volunteers and attending events may require weekend work from time to time.

At the centre of this role is people – you'll have a passion for networking internally and externally and acting as a professional representative of the organisation.
A strong level of computer literacy is needed as you'll post and engage with whanau on our local social media pages and promote opportunities to prospective volunteers.
While experience working in the community would be advantageous, asking the right questions to understand the journey and services needed by parents and caregivers, and having the drive to turn that into action, is key to this role.
Ideally you will be well networked across this region and able to hit the ground running with insights and ideas to help us move forward.
