Systems Engineer Requirements

Overview

We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Systems Engineer Requirements to join our proactive and innovative team. This role will provide holistic lifecycle Systems Engineering support to replenish activities within the customers program. Although not a purist systems engineer role, the role requires a systems thinking mindset and the application of these methods, approaches, tools and techniques. Efforts are centred on the packaging of the containment systems. Transition to detailed design is planned for the end of January, and preparations are underway. Site requirements are currently fluid, with most team members working remotely.

Responsibilities

• Requirements : System and sub-system requirement identification, linking common requirements across PP&E projects via a requirements management tool (e.g., DOORS). Group requirements as Standard / Common or Project Specific (non-Common) to reduce duplication and measure PP&E standardisation across live projects.
• Engage with end users to clarify and validate requirements through the design phase.
• Confirm that the proposed design meets user needs.
• Facilitate stakeholder workshops.
• Manage requirements using DOORS.
• System Concepts : Ensure concept down selects consider opportunities for single, standardised solutions across projects; prioritise standardisation in tools and methods (e.g., Functional Means Analysis, N2 Analysis, Whole System Solution Identification, Decision Matrix, Pugh Matrix).
• System Design : Champion standardisation principles to reduce variety of equipment, maximise use of common sub-systems, and prioritise COTS (or MOTS where needed).
• Detail Design : Use PLM and configuration control to compare technical solutions and identify areas of cross-project standardisation.
• Evolution of Design : Reduce diversity of supplied equipment and champion standardisation when revisiting designs; demonstrate standardisation outputs for future offers / programmes.
