OverviewMedical Secretary / Patient Pathway Coordinator at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust.
The closing date is 09 October 2025.Proactively coordinate patients through their treatment pathway ensuring a smooth process and compliance to National Cancer waiting time standards, National RTT compliance standard, diagnostic standards and any internal targets.Act as first point of contact on behalf of the consultant and the Trust and deal effectively with all enquiries from GPs, patients, other departments within the Trust and external stakeholders, in line with Trust Values.Main duties of the jobEffective management of the patient pathway, including booking follow up appointments, adhering to government standards.
Escalate issues where necessary.
Support the Operational Managers in achieving utilisation targets for outpatient clinics and timely recording of clinical outcomes.Manage clinical dictations on digital dictation or voice recognition systems and administer as required.
Transcribe consultant admin via audio.
Draw the consultants / doctor\'s attention to all incoming results, prioritising those which may require urgent clinical input.Undertake other clerical duties to ensure the smooth running of the office, including sorting post, photocopying, sending and receiving emails, answering telephone calls and dealing with enquiries, redirecting and relaying information as necessary.About usWe are one of the largest hospital trusts in England, with five hospitals and community clinics serving a local population of around 800,000 people.
