As a RA you will be a leader within our student community by :

• providing pastoral support to first year tertiary student
• organizing and running events for the community
• monitor and informing senior staff about community developments

• Ability to relate to and empathise with the challenges first year tertiary learners face
• Ability to self-manage and organise your own workload

• Genuine desire to support a community of people
• People focus and enjoyment in engaging and communicating with a diverse range of people
• Understanding of professional boundaries in a support based role.As part of this role, you must be enrolled in full time study at Otago Polytechnic or Otago University for 2026 and be willing to live on-site.You will be able to demonstrate the following : Excellent communication skills with a natural ability to engage and build relationships
• Be an effective Te Tiriti o Waitangi partner by supporting the values and tikaka of mana whenua throughout your mahi
• Good computer literacy and ability to use full suite of Microsoft products (particularly Word, Excel and SharePoint / Teams).
• Pass a police check
• Ability to work in NZYou will have demonstrable health and safety best practices and enjoy being part of a team who support each other.
