Overview
The NZ Structural Engineering Lead is responsible for leading the structural engineering teams across the Auckland and Wellington offices while delivering high-quality engineering solutions and projects.
This role includes managing technical resources, managing staff, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage the structural engineering team, providing direction and mentorship to staff.
Oversee the design and implementation of engineering solutions for various projects.
Strong emphasis on business development and active in driving new revenue opportunities for the structural team
Collaborate with clients, architects, and other engineering disciplines
Ensure all projects adhere to local, state, and national regulations, standards, and best practices.
Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure timely delivery of high-quality services.
Conduct technical reviews and provide guidance on complex structural engineering issues.
Foster a culture of safety and innovation within the team, encouraging continuous improvement and professional development.
Develop and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring their needs and expectations are met.
Prepare technical reports, proposals, and presentations for stakeholders.
Who We're Looking For
A senior practitioner with technical expertise recognised in the local market
Bachelor's degree in Structural
Must be Chartered Professional Engineer and able to provide Producer Statements
Proven experience in structural engineering design and project management, preferably in a consultancy environment
Strong knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and drive change
Ability to work alongside existing leaders and in multidisciplinary teams
Proven track record in delivering projects from concept to completion
Proactive and forward-thinking approach to structural engineering challenges
Commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for innovation
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively
