Playcentre operates over 400 Playcentres throughout the country.Aria Playcentre is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic session facilitator to join our well-resourced and vibrant Playcentre Community.
You will work alongside our members and tamariki to guide session activities, facilitate learning using child-led play and positive guidance, support planning and assessment for learning and positively support the Playcentre education programme.
You will be a leader who encourages others to thrive; you will model Playcentre philosophy and good practice while supporting whanau to gain confidence to have a go themselves.14
October or as soon as possible.Days or hours : Tuesday morning sessions, 3 hours per week this is inclusive of 30 minutes non-contact time.
This is a permanent position during term time only.The ideal candidate will : Hold a Playcentre Course 3 qualification, or higher Early Childhood qualification;Hold a current first aid certificate; or be prepared to achieve this.Desirable skills and experience will include : A passion for Playcentre and our philosophyStrong interpersonal and communication skills with experience at centre level with tamariki and adultsStrong knowledge and understanding of Te Whariki and commitment to Te Tiriti o WaitangiAbility to support and empower parents, whanau and caregivers in their role as kaiakoPassion for supporting te reo Maori and tikanga and engaging all whanau to feel a sense of belonging on our sessions.Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.How to applyTo apply, please visit our website and submit your application online.
