Our process is powered by renewable energy primarily from the Manapouri hydroelectric station which we use to make the highest purity primary aluminium available anywhere on the planet.We are looking for an experienced and driven Maintenance Superintendent to lead our Reduction maintenance team.
This includes accountability for management of the health of the assets required to sustain reduction line operations.
Our operations run 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and the role is accountable for all planned and breakdown maintenance functions.This is your opportunity to lead in a technically complex and safety-critical environment — a role where your leadership, asset management expertise, and commitment to continuous improvement will make a measurable difference to the reliability, sustainability, and performance of the smelter.What You'll Be DoingReporting to the Reduction Manager, and leading a capable and passionate team, you will : Provide technical and strategic leadership across the asset base under the control of the Reduction line department, including reduction Cells, large overhead gantry cranes, plant air, and other associated infrastructure and systems.Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring robust safety practices and continuous risk management.Develop and implement life-cycle asset strategies and reliability-centred maintenance plans for Reduction assets.Support capital and sustaining project delivery related to the department's infrastructure.Lead, coach, and grow a team of highly skilled maintainers, project managers and technical support staff — creating a culture where people thrive and feel proud of their work.What You'll BringWe are seeking a people-focused leader with strong technical capability in plant systems.
