This role is hands-on, requires problem solving, and involves working with a team focused on operational excellence through smart technology.ResponsibilitiesDeliver and support site-wide automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA platforms (e.g., InTouch, Ignition)Support capital projects by contributing to the design and implementation of automation and controlsWork with recipe management, traceability systems, and ERP integration to optimise productionTroubleshoot automation issues, investigate root causes, and implement robust technical solutionsContribute to OT network design, data architecture, and cybersecurity protocolsWork cross-functionally with production, maintenance, IT, and quality teamsYou may be an experienced automation engineer or early in your career with strong practical exposure – either way, you're keen to learn, proactive, and tech-savvy.Skills and ExperienceDegree or diploma in Mechatronics, Electrical, Computer, or Control Systems EngineeringPrevious experience in automation or manufacturing systemsHands-on skills with PLC programming (Siemens, Allen Bradley preferred), HMI, SCADASome exposure to scripting / programming (e.g. Python, .Net, C#), database / SQL skillsKnowledge of OT networking, system integration, and cybersecurity practicesA practical mindset and strong communication skills; ability to work on the floor and with teamsAbout SynlaitSynlait is a global leader in milk nutrition and a purpose-led team.
