Overview

This role involves developing an AI avatar feature for a news website, focusing on enhancing user engagement and interactivity. The AI avatar will greet users, read headlines, and offer to search for additional information on relevant topics. The project is in the planning and research phase, and the successful candidate will play a key part in shaping the technical approach and implementation strategy. This is a remote, single-project opportunity ideal for those with a passion for AI-driven user experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement an AI avatar capable of greeting users and reading news headlines aloud.
  • Integrate natural language processing to enable the avatar to understand user queries and offer to search for related information.
  • Ensure seamless integration of the avatar with the existing news website infrastructure.
  • Collaborate on defining technical requirements and selecting appropriate AI / ML frameworks.
  • Conduct testing and troubleshooting to ensure a smooth user experience.
  • Provide documentation and recommendations for future enhancements.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in AI / ML development, particularly in conversational AI or virtual avatar projects.
  • Proficiency with relevant programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or similar.
  • Experience with natural language processing (NLP) frameworks and speech synthesis technologies.
  • Ability to integrate AI solutions into web platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.
  • Availability for remote collaboration; no onsite presence required.
