Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Pūkenga - Lecturer or Pūkenga Matua - Senior Lecturer in Marine Biology / Ecology. This is a permanent, full-time position. We seek a candidate with a strong research focus on temperate rocky reef ecosystems, who will use our world-class Coastal Ecology Laboratory, including wet-lab, SCUBA diving, and boating facilities. The appointee will be expected to develop, administer, and deliver outstanding teaching into our undergraduate and postgraduate marine biology and ecology courses, including field-based courses. Familiarity, or the desire to become familiar, with tikanga and mātauranga Māori in relation to marine research is expected. The successful candidate will be expected to recruit and supervise postgraduate students and the ability to attract external research funding, and foster research collaborations that incorporate our unique place in Aotearoa and the Pacific.

Salary : $89,326 to $135,265 per annum.
