He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About this role

Due to an internal secondment, we re looking for a Manager Central Developments, for a 24 month fixed term. This role is responsible for the provision of water and wastewater consenting, EPAs, connections and disconnections from our water and wastewater and associated compliance services to external customers who are developing properties in Auckland.

A key responsibility is consenting which ranges from single property to multiple unit consents, both in greenfield and brownfield developments. This includes the determination of whether a development can proceed - reviewing developers designs of new infrastructure to ensure they meet Watercare's standards and capacity requirements.

As a people leader, you will be leading, mentoring and supporting the team to meet these. responsibilities.

You are an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills. You enjoy leading and mentoring your team, and have proven yourself as a strong people leader.

Your background will include :

  • 5+ years' experience leading successful teams of customer service and / or engineers.
  • Successful experience leading businesses that have a high level of transactional activities.
  • Experience managing revenues in excess of $10m p.a.
  • A track record of attracting and building talent within diverse teams through coaching, feedback, exposure and stretch assignments
  • The ability to communicate and influence at management levels effectively, and to interact with developers, vendors, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in utilities sector, customer services, construction contracting or engineering consultancy, preferably in water / wastewater.
