OverviewOpihi College is seeking a passionate and innovative mathematics teacher to lead our Mathematics Department, teaching learners across Y9–13.

Expertise in calculus would be an advantage, but is not essential.
You will bring strong curriculum knowledge, leadership capability, and a commitment to student success, guiding senior learners through NCEA pathways while ensuring high-quality programmes across the school.ResponsibilitiesLead a collegial and dedicated mathematics department, fostering collaboration, innovation, and effective teaching practice.Build positive relationships with students and staff; adapt and energize teaching to ensure every learner has the opportunity to succeed in mathematics.Support senior learners through NCEA pathways and ensure high-quality programmes across the school.Qualifications and requirementsExperience teaching mathematics in Y9–13 and leadership capability.Strong curriculum knowledge; commitment to student success.Expertise in calculus would be an advantage, but not essential.Ability to guide senior learners through NCEA pathways.Salary and conditionsThe terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position are set by the Secondary Teachers' Collective Agreement.
The base salary for trained and registered teachers will range from $61,329 to $103,086, depending on qualifications and experience.
