Primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi, Certificated teacher

English, Health and physical education, Learning languages, Mathematics and statistics, Science, Social sciences, Technology, Te reo Māori, The arts

Are you a passionate and caring educator who loves working with our youngest learners? Southbridge School is seeking a dedicated new entrant teacher (0.4 FTE) to join our friendly, supportive team.

This position involves teaching our newest school starters in a warm, nurturing, and engaging environment where curiosity and creativity are encouraged every day.

Responsibilities

Builds positive relationships with tamariki and whānau
Creates a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment
Has strong knowledge of early literacy and numeracy foundations
Works collaboratively as part of a team
Brings enthusiasm, flexibility, and a growth mindset

Qualifications

New entrant teaching certification

Experience or demonstrated ability to teach early years education

Ability to foster curiosity and creativity in young learners
