Company Description : At Hamilton City Council Digital Services, the Asset and Commercial team plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of our Digital Services Finances and Asset Management. We are dedicated to driving change, supporting the commercial needs of the unit, and collaborating across Digital Services to champion community-focused initiatives.

Job Description : As the Asset Management Lead, you’ll establish a single point of accountability for the lifecycle management of Hamilton City Council’s digital assets. This includes hardware, software, licensing, warranties, and cloud services. You will sit within the Digital Services Asset and Commercial team and work with our Platform leaders driving service quality and embedding governance. This role is critical to ensuring staff and customers have reliable, predictable digital services that align with HCC’s digital strategy. Your work will help to ensure that digital assets are optimised, secure, and scalable to meet the evolving needs of the Council and its community.

Responsibilities

• Lifecycle Management : Oversee digital asset lifecycles from purchase to disposal, maintain a centralised register, and support sustainability through proactive planning.
• Compliance & Risk Management : Ensure all digital assets meet legal, regulatory, and security obligations, avoiding penalties and audit findings.
• Financial Integration : Collaborate with the Commercial arm of the team on budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimisation, providing transparency across the asset portfolio.
• Lifecycle Maturity : Establish frameworks and tooling requirements that move HCC from reactive to proactive asset management.
• Data & Reporting : Deliver insights on asset health, utilisation, and spend, integrating data across ITSM, ERP, and vendor systems.
• Optimisation & Strategic Value : Drive efficiencies through reuse, licensing optimisation, and shared service opportunities to reduce total cost of ownership.
• Collaboration : Work across teams to align asset decisions with technical needs, process improvements, and financial strategies.
