Our kura is guided by the whakatauki : Kia uru kahikatea te tu – like the kahikatea, we stand tall together, our roots intertwined.About the roleWe are seeking a passionate and committed kaiako to join our kura whanau in a permanent role from the start of 2026.

This position is suited to someone with strengths in developing an ECE transition to school programme, ensuring tamariki and their whanau experience a positive and supportive pathway into kura.

Knowledge of early learning pedagogy and the ability to weave ECE practice into the junior school will be highly valued.Familiarity with Little Learners Love Literacy will be an advantage in supporting early literacy foundations for tamariki.We especially value kaiako with strengths in kaupapa Maori, te reo Maori, and tikanga Maori, who are willing to walk alongside us as we continue our kura-wide induction into Te Ara Whakamana.We seek kaiako who will stand with us like the kahikatea, bound together with whanau, ensuring every tamaiti grows strong, seen and supported to reach their potential.Future directionWith a dream to create the very best learning environment for our kura, we are exploring ways to disrupt parts of the current system so that our tamariki have a stronger chance of success.

One pathway we are considering is transitioning to a charter school model, if the opportunity arises.
