Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu (Te Kura) is New Zealand's largest school with a roll of up to 28,000 ākonga (students) at any point of time. Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this position

This is an exciting time to join the team at Te Kura as we respond proactively to the opportunities of The New Zealand Curriculum Refresh (NZCR) and NCEA Change. The position of contract year 1-10 Mathematics online curriculum writer includes :

  • Developing content for a welcome module, following established protocols
  • Developing content for modules that scaffold fundamental language knowledge and skills, following established protocols
  • Developing content for up to eight learning modules, following established protocols
  • Developing activities that promote learner agency and confidence in applying existing and new learning
  • Liaison with the project team through all stages of the development process
  • Attending workshops as required - for training purposes and to collaborate with other members of the writing and project teams

We are well underway with the refresh of selected year 1-10 learning areas and with development of refreshed NCEA Level 1 courses. Our friendly and knowledgeable project team is there to provide advice and guidance along the way.

This fixed term position is up to 0.3FTE starting July 2024, and going through until 13 December 2024.

Ko koe tēnei | About you

We are looking for suitably qualified, enthusiastic, and future-focused kaimahi to assist with the development of resources to support Mathematics year 1-10 resource development. Note that this is an online writing role, not a teaching position.

You will have in-depth knowledge of Mathematics, have recent experience teaching Mathematics in New Zealand schools, and be comfortable and familiar with expectations of NZCR including interweaving mātauranga Māori, literacy, numeracy, and key competencies.

A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Sharepoint, Google apps and Learning Management Systems is desirable. A willingness to engage with new online tools and to work to agreed timelines is essential.

Working relationships :

You will work closely with the Project Manager, Project Leads, and members of the Curriculum Team.
