Community Support Worker - Whakatane, Edgecumbe, Kawerau

We are looking for dynamic, energetic, and conscientious individuals that can support our Service Users living with complex injuries / disabilities within their own homes.

The rewarding role of a Community Support Worker includes (but not limited to) :

Assisting Service Users with personal cares, home help, shopping assistance, and meal preparations

Supporting exercise programmes

Moving and handling using hoists and manual transfers

Assisting Service Users to access the community

Days of Work :

As this is community-based work, rotating rosters would be involved including am, pm and weekend work.

Your preferred hours of work can be discussed during the recruitment process.

Pay Band : $24.13 - $30.03 p

er hour (this is based on the Pay Equity Settlement by the Ministry of Health – hourly pay rates based on equivalency of Healthcare Qualifications assessed under Pay Equity)

The ideal candidate would have (Candidate Pre-Requisites) :

Experience in personal care is required.

Experience in Complex Care (Bowel and SPC Cares) and Challenging Behaviours would be preferred

A Level 3 or Level 4 qualification in Health and Wellbeing would be an advantage, however, someone looking at making a career in the Healthcare Industry would also be considered for this role

Access to your own car and ability to drive Independently ( a Full New Zealand Driver's License is a must)

Flexibility to work on a roster (including weekends)

Great communication skills

Legal rights to work in New Zealand
