Pig Farm Manager

We are seeking a manager for our 300 sow indoor / outdoor pig farm located in the Waimakariri district, approximately ¾ hour out of Christchurch.

This is a hands‑on working manager position which will involve all aspects of pig farming, including daily stock management, AI, stock selection, farrowing, milling, feeding, record keeping, etc.

Key requirements are proven management of stock and staff, accurate record keeping, ensuring high stock welfare standards at all times, and an eye for selection of breeding and finishing stock.

Experience with different feeds and feeding systems, workplace health and safety awareness, tractor and machinery experience, and farm biosecurity are essential.

The farm is located ½–1 hour's drive away from ski fields, mountains, rivers and lakes, and is close to several towns.

Off‑farm accommodation may be available with the job.
