Overview
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Instrumentation and Controls (EI&C) Engineer to join our Intelligent Systems team in Christchurch, New Zealand . As an experienced EI&C engineer, you will apply standards and a best practice approach to the delivery of EI&C projects.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and support project lifecycle documents including proposals, concept designs, detailed designs, and operations and maintenance documents
- Provide technical input and expertise on a variety of critical infrastructure projects
- Undertake assigned tasks independently within agreed timeframe and quality
- May lead projects or project steps within a broader project or have accountability for ongoing activities or objectives
- Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience, both on projects and as part of the Jacobs team
- Be accountable
- Your experience allows you to develop design artifacts with limited supervision and support larger EI&C programs of work
- Understand quality systems and follow them on a day-to-day basis
- Have experience developing EI&C designs in major infrastructure environments and use this experience in water, power and renewable sectors, plus other sectors as directed
Qualifications
Relevant tertiary degree with robust knowledge of Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls standards and design arrangementsAble to supervise and undertake designs for Electrical, Control, Industrial Communications and SCADA systems projectsExperience in one or more of these major infrastructure sectors : Water, Power, Renewables, Rail and ResourcesExperience leading teams developing EI&C designsExperience in development of proposals for complex infrastructure clients is desirableExperience in Operational Technology (OT) and Internet of Things (IoT) desirableDemonstrate eligibility to be a Chartered EngineerJacobs.
