We’re looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor with deep and demonstrable expertise and knowledge in contract administration to join our Christchurch team. This is your chance to take on a high-impact role, ensuring the commercial success of utility-scale renewable energy projects across New Zealand.
What You’ll Do
- Take ownership of EPC contract administration from award to close-out, ensuring obligations and risks are actively managed.
- Work closely with procurement team with compile, negotiate and manage subcontracts, professional services agreements and supply only agreements whilst optimising flow down provisions.
- Draft, issue, and manage notices, variations, and claims in line with both head contract and subcontract requirements.
- Prepare payment claims / payment schedules up and down stream.
- Lead project cost controls, forecasting, and reporting to protect profitability and minimise risk.
- Advise and support project managers, engineers, and site teams with expert contractual guidance.
- Prepare and submit claims for delay and disruption under the head contract and defend those from the supply chain.
- Contribute to any dispute resolution, claims preparation, and strategic risk management.
What You’ll Bring
Ideally 5+ years’ senior experience in a QS or contract administration role on major EPC, civil, or infrastructure projects.Degree in Quantity Surveying, Law, Construction Management, or Engineering.Strong knowledge of AS / NZS standard forms, with proven claims and contract management expertise. Experience with FIDIC based EPC head contracts beneficial.Sharp commercial and negotiation skills, with the ability to see the “big picture” while managing details.Professional membership (CPEng, NZIQS, RICS, CIArb) or postgraduate legal / construction law qualifications valued.Renewable energy, civil infrastructure, or EPC experience advantageous.Why This Role Stands Out
