We’re looking for a strategic and hands‑on Safety Business Partner to join our People, Culture and Wellbeing team. This role is pivotal in shaping a culture where health, safety, and wellbeing are embedded in every decision and action. You’ll partner with leaders to influence behaviours, build capability, and drive proactive risk management and continuous improvement across Toi Ohomai.

Our Safety Business Partners lead a portfolio of specialist responsibilities organisational wide, as well as partnering with leaders locally to integrate health and safety into strategic and operational planning, delivery and continuous improvement.

• Act as a strategic partner to leaders, embedding health and safety into planning and delivery.
• Provide safety leadership through business partnership and hands‑on delivery of local safety responsibilities.
• Champion Te Tiriti o Waitangi and equity in all aspects of practice.
• Compliance & Audits – Lead a robust health and safety compliance and audit framework to ensure legislative adherence and continuous improvement.
• Policy & Procedure – Manage health and safety documentation, ensuring policies are practical, compliant, and add value through a consultative approach.
• Frameworks & Standards – Maintain current, relevant frameworks that enable good practice and ongoing capability building across the organisation.
• Incident Management – Oversee incident management processes, supporting teams and driving collaborative, continuous improvement practices.
• Hazard & Risk Management – Lead hazard and risk identification, maintain organisation‑wide registers, and implement effective control measures.
