      But what will you actually be doing as a SupportWorker on the awake nights? You’ll work in our residential service supportingpeople within the mental health sector. Your main focus will be workingalongside individuals in the evening to support their recovery, enhance theirwellbeing, and help them live a meaningful life. This could involve tasks likeassisting with meal preparation and cleaning up. It's all about making apositive difference in their lives while you enjoy the night-time schedule.

      You’ll also

    • Focus on the individuals needs and provide culturally safe practice
    • Complete relevant administrative tasks, take comprehensive notes, provide effective handovers to the next shift, and support and collaborate with your colleagues
    • Medication support when required
    • While the people you support are asleep, you will be kept busy with other tasks like cleaning and supporting the day shifts with maintaining things like filing, first aid kits, emergency kits and preparation of paperwork.
    • The role is working the awake night shift from11.00pm – 7.30am, Wednesday to Saturday nights, based in Nelson.

      You’re a natural when it comes to caring andempathy and understand the power of working in a recovery-focused way, whereindividuals take charge of their own journey, making you an ideal fit for thisrole.

      You’ll also

    • either hold the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (or a recognised equivalent) or be willing to commence study towards this qualification within six months of starting with us.
    • hold a full drivers licence
    • hold a current comprehensive first aid certificate covering units 6400, 6401 and 6402 or be willing to obtain one within 3 months of employment
    • have knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to, the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi
