Accredited for twelve months of advanced training time by the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (ACEM)Accredited for rural / regional training - is a great place to meet the ACEM rural training time requirementAccredited for the Paediatric Logbook component of trainingAn ACEM exam preparation programme, an ACEM Examiner and a high pass rate for the College Primary and Fellowship examsA range of other accredited Registrar positions (including ICU, anaesthetics, and medicine) that College trainees are able to rotate into in order to fulfil the requirements of trainingOtago University offers papers that meet the criteria of the ACEM Trainee Research Requirement Coursework PathwayThe Emergency Department sees 47,000 patients per year. Our ideal candidate will have :
registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand or be eligible for general or provisional general registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. You can check your eligibility for registration by visiting the Council's website ata minimum of two years post-graduate and want to gain ED experience or advance a career in Emergency Medicine.It is requirement of the NZ Medical Council that your qualifications are approved through EPIC. If you have a commitment to working in New Zealand, it is highly recommended that you start this process as soon as possible to allow your subsequent registration to be undertaken in a timely fashion.
