Senior Consultant or Manager - Actuarial - Financial Services

Overview

As a Senior Consultant or Manager, you’ll provide actuarial consulting to clients mainly within financial services, with some work in the public sector as well. Your responsibilities will include managing projects and delivering results and strategic advice that help clients handle risk, optimise performance, and develop growth strategies. This role is based in our Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) or Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington) office.

Key responsibilities

• Work with a diverse range of clients, making a significant impact in both the public and private sectors.
• Collaborate across our broader Financial Services practice, including strategy, transactions, tax, technology, and risk professionals.
• Engage in a variety of projects – from business transformation, capital and risk management, pricing, and product innovation to liability valuation and appointed actuary work.
• Develop and implement actuarial models and methodologies tailored to client needs.
• Conduct risk assessments and provide strategic advice on risk management and regulatory compliance.
• Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
• Forge strategic partnerships in government, health, human services, and social sectors to enhance community wellbeing.
• Analyse and interpret data to uncover critical insights for informed decision-making.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory and legislative changes, and actively contribute to business thought leadership.
